What a Weekend!

We had a great weekend! We kicked it off by going a party with great friends. Ate tons of yummy food then played some minute to win it games. It was hilarious and so much fun.

On saturday morning we went out to get some stuff done on the farm. Tawny loved helping daddy feed the animals.

Saturday afternoon we went up tae Lake Havasu for my Aunt Susan's birthday. We saw tons of family we haven't seen in quite a while. The kids got to swim with cousins for hours. My dad and his sisters, Susan & Marie
Ethan played with rocks the entire time

Ethan's Birthday

Ethan's birthday was on Monday, the same day Tawny had her birthday party. I'm not kidding when I say that August was busy. Two weddings on opposite side of the country, 2 kids with birthdays and 1 wedding reception that I did top to bottom: rentals, decor, catered it myself, clean up. I am so ready for school to start tomorrow and to get back to normal boring everyday life. Back to Ethan's birthday.

Her wasn't so sure about the presents, probably because I usually take paper away when he rips it and this time we were encouraging it. Life must be so confusing for a little kid!

He loved all his presents once they were out of the boxes. He would have loved them a little more if he didn't have so much "help" playing with them. Tawny and Brayden were a little intense, but they meant well.

He loved when we all sang to him.
I let him have a smash cake, just like I've done with the other kids. He wasn't so sure at first, but once he got going there was no stopping him.

Going...Going...Gone.

I'm not sure he ate very much, but he was great at sharing. My dad couldn't eat it (he can't have wheat) but Ethan shared just the same.

The aftermath.

I can't believe my little baby is already 1! Happy Birthday monkey. Of all my kids you are attached to me the most (at this age) and I love it. Your cuddles can't be beat, especially since you are so smushy. You are smiley and happy and I can't wait to get to see your little personality develop. Actually I can wait. I'm in no hurry for my baby to disappear.

Tawny's Birthday

We got back from Florida Sunday morning and we had a family birthday party for Tawny on Sunday evening. She loved all her presents

They had to get the Playdo out right away

After dinner we decorated cupcakes.Ethan was so excited to see me after I was gone for so long. It's nice to know he loves meHe also really loves his Papa

The next day (which was actually Ehtan's birthday) Tawny had a friend party. I had told her months ago she could have one, before I knew about all the weddings. And I couldn't go back on my promise. I'm glad I didn't because she had so much fun! She wanted a fairy party, as girly and frilly as possible, so we had homemade hair flowers, lip gloss and nail polish as our party favors.

Of course lots of streamersWe decorated fairy wings with glitter and rhinestonesHad pink fairy cupcakesAnd all dressed like fairy princessesEven Mommy (look at later pics. I'm even wearing a pair of her wings at Tawny's insistence)
They all had so much fun

After opening presents (which was very much a team effort) we had a little fairy dance party led by my mom Miss Terri the dance teacher. This was by far the girls favorite part of the party.
making "shapes" Brayden was our lone boy fairy. He didn't do everything because it was "too girly" but he was a good sport about it.Ethan even got in on the fun

Happy Birthday to my princess Tawny. You are everything I could ask for in a daughter and so much more. You are helpful, spirited, independent, full of joy and have such a love for life. Your smile lights up a room. You love to cuddle and spend every waking moment with me (which I love most of the time). You have a strong sense of right and wrong and try so hard to do what is right. I love you.
