Curly!

I found some sponge rollers yesterday and just for fun I thought I'd try curling Tawny's hair. This isn't exactly what I was going for. I'll definitely use the bigger roller next time!

Fun in Flagstaff

We went up to visit my Grandma Wanda in Flagstaff this weekend. It was so great to see her and her beautiful home. The weather wasn't too bad either. I didn't know that cool weather even existed in July. You learn something everyday don't you?

We spent most of the time see the sites and taking the kids to various parks. Thanks for letting us come see you Grandma! I have a feeling we'll be back soon!
Tawny's first ice cream cone.

We couldn't get him off the slides.

Going for a walk.

Belated 4th

I know it's almost too late to do a July 4th post, but oh well. We had so much fun on Saturday. One of our friends here threw an awesome party at their house right across the street from the fairgrounds (where they do our big fireworks show here.). They had tons of food and great company. For the kids they rented a big waterslide and had glow sticks and fireworks to spare. Brayden love every second of it. Tawny loved the slide and the food, but was not impressed by the fireworks. Oh-well. Can't win them all.
Pre-party and so excited! I made her that little shirt from two bandannas. It turned out much better than I anticipated. I didn't have to rip out a single stitch (that's a huge accomplishment for me)
Brayden and his monster face! He happened to have a red, white and blue swimsuit. Perfect!
Loving the sparklers. He kept asking me if he could light things on fire: grass, sticks, a boy's shirt. Don't worry, we watched our little pyro very closely.
Going down the slide. I know it's small, but the kids have the greatest looks on their faces, especially Brayden who it in the process of eating the slide. Please ignore the white whale holding Tawny.

Father's Day and So Much More

We had a great Father's Day. I decided to let Brayden pick his own present for Greg (within reason). And he actually came up with a great one: fishing poles for him and Greg.

I also let Brayden pick out a card for Greg. Brayden just had to have a Lightening McQueen card...

...even if it was in Spanish. (Good thing my awesome husband is bilingual.)

The last week was a fairly tough one, with just one thing after another going wrong. In one day alone, my vacuum died (and by died I mean exploded), Tawny thought it would be a good idea to empty EVERY SINGLE container in my kitchen, I ran out of gas with my kids in the car in the middle of 110 degree afternoon heat and I'm pretty sure I broke my finger. On the up side,I got a new vacuum (more on that later), did some late spring cleaning in my kitchen, and since I use my AAA so often I'm on a first name basis with the guy so he responded in less than 10 minutes. So we only melted a little bit.

This week is shaping up to be much better. We started with an FHE about the 4th of July. I think Brayden and Tawny really enjoyed it, especially the part where we decorated flag rice krispie treats.
Tawny even helped me clean up. How thoughtful!
