I can't think of a better way to express my current emotional state. Let's just say I am never ever ever buying a home again. EVER.

Self Esteem Builder

Scene: I'm getting dressed/ready for the day. Brayden is sitting on my bed watching.

Brayden: Mom make sure you put makeup on your face today. It makes you pretty.
Me: Do I need makeup to be pretty?
Brayden: You sure do!
Me: Are you saying I'm ugly?
Brayden: No. Just your face.
Me: *shocked look*
Brayden: I mean, just the inside of your nose is ugly. The rest of your face is mostly pretty.

It's good to know that just my face is ugly. And what do think he meant by "mostly pretty"?

Little Triumphs

Brayden is reading books by himself! Today he read 90% of Hop on Pop without any help. I've never seen him so excited. He won't even let me sit next to him. I thinks he loves that sense of independence. The funniest part is if he doesn't know a word he'll make one up based on the part he can read. You should have heard him reading "Constantinople and Timbuktu" at the end. I almost died trying not to laugh.

Tawny had yet another perfect potty training day. No accidents. I didn't even have to remind her a million times. This morning in the middle of playing with Brayden she said," Hold on juuuuust a second Brayden. I have to go pee in my little toilet." If only I could capture her intonation and facial expressions. It's priceless.

Brayden can swim completely 100% by himself. Jumping off the diving board included. Way to go!

I reorganized my closet and found things I forgot I even had. I've only lived in this house for eight months. How did it get so cluttered?

Still waiting to close on our house. No triumphs here. Not yet at least. We're set to close on September 25th, but we'll see what happens. It's a short sale and from what I've heard, there's a million and one things that can go wrong.
