Easter Week

Easter was a week long celebration this year. We started out with decorating eggs one day. Brayden and Tawny loved decorating the eggs. Ethan just loved eating them

Another day we decorated cookies. Ethan enjoyed this one more, but still his favorite part was eating them. No surprise there.  The funniest part was that he hated getting frosting on his hands, so it was funny to watch him try to eat it without touching the frosting.

On Friday we had an east egg hunt at my parent's house. I got a few cute shots of Ethan, but Brayden and Tawny were just too quick for me this year.

This is Brayden and Tawny with Tyler and Kelsey. They were so cute and of course each had to have a turn holding her. Ethan wasn't as thrilled with Kelsey. Hopefully he warms up before baby#4 is born in May.

The Saturday before Easter was our first swimming day of the year, at least for the kids. It was way too cold for me. Brayden's face says it all. He wants to smile and have fun, but it's just so cold!

Easter Sunday before church. Greg had early morning meetings so I was flying solo like all Sundays. Things They are just so cute!
Tawny insisted I get a picture of her hair.

After church we had an Easter Egg Scavenger hunt with clues that led them to their baskets. They had eaten way too many sweets that week already, so we skipped the candy in the egg thing. They didn't seem to mind at all. They loved figuring out the clue and finally found their baskets, which had nearly all non-candy items.

Birthday, Wedding, and family luau

Greg had his 30th birthday this year! I wanted to have a party with friends but it was such a busy week that it just didn't happen. So he had a little family party instead, but I don't think Greg really cared one way or the other. The kids picked out little gifts and made card which he loved.

My Aunt Susan's wedding was the same week so we had a bunch of family visiting for the whole week. Brian and Kaylyn, their kids and Steven, Ashley and Jordan came for a few days during the week too. We all had so much fun but pics of that will follow. Susan's wedding was on Saturday and was beautiful. I was too busy wrangling my kids to get many pictures, but was a really nice ceremony. They had it down by the river and my dad officiated.

The following weeks was spring break and Brayden wanted to celebrate by having a party. SO we raided the dollar store. I let the kids pick the theme, the menu, everything. They chose a luau and obviously chose the hats. We ate tons of yummy food and played games as a family way past bedtime. It was a really great night.

End of Baseball

This is Ethan's favorite pasttime- getting dirty

We finished out baseball strong. Brayden and Tawny both had great coaches and had a great time. Brayden started the year out in right field, but was progressively moved to more challenging positions. The last few games he was on 2nd base and did really well. Tawny was mostly cute, but at her age that's all the can be expected. They both got trophies at the end of the year and thought that was pretty awesome.

Dance Competition

so behind in my posts! But I have to get caught up. The first pic is just a cute on of Tawny and Ethan watching a movie together.

Tawny did the dance competition again this year. She did a tap dance to "I Love You" and was adorable doing it. She took first place for her age group which is really great.

Week In Pictures

I don't have too much time so I'll rely on pictures with captions for this past week

Tawny with Aunt Tawny at her baseball game
Ethan after "eating" yogurt by himself. I'm not sure he ate much of anything
morning reading time
just cute
more cute
We went out to the farm saturday morning to help/watch Papa and Daddy butcher two sheep. Tawny and especially Brayden were super interested in the organs (which was which, what they do, etc). I guess they got an anatomy lesson that day. They also spent tons of time running around/playing on equipment and getting filthy. They were in heaven!

picnic in the backyard on saturday
just one more silly boy. I asked him to smile for a picture and he covered his face instead.

Take me out to the ballgame...

So I'm way behind, but two saturdays ago we had quite the busy day. It started out with two soccer games in the morning. Tawny first, then Brayden. It was their last game of the year and they both did really well all season. The only pic I got is of Brayden trying to watch Tawny play while Ethan mauled him. Pretty typical.
After that we ran home for a quick lunch and uniform change, because that day was also opening ceremonies for baseball. Tawny is playing T-Ball this year and Brayden is playing farm league (coach pitch). Coincidentally, they both ended up on the Dodgers which makes picture of them together even cuter. At opening ceremonies they introduce EVERY SINGLE PLAYER in T-Ball and Farm. with 18 teams total and 12-14 kids on each team, you can imagine that it took a long time. I didn't get a pic of them being introduce but just imagine them grinning ear to ear and feeling super cool. I did manage to snap a quick picture afterward, before Tawny had her game.
Tawny loved her first game. They only hiccup was that she didn't have a matching hair bow. She nearly refused to play, but I promised I'd make her one for her next game so she changed her mind. But she loved hitting and is surprisingly good at fielding the ball. She's definitely aggressive, to the point of knocking her teammates out of the way so she can get the ball. We're working on that.
This is Brayden's first year of coach pitch and I was super surprised with how well he does at batting. I meant to work with him before the season started, but just ran out of time. He doesn't hit it out of the park or anything, but he connects consistently and has even hit a few into the outfield. He's seems to like baseball a little more than soccer.
That night Tawny also had her soccer party, where she got a trophy and was named best defensive player. She had a great coach this year and I"m hoping she'll have him again next year. The party was during the last part of Brayden's game, so no pictures.

Another game, another day. But she's so cute how could I not post it?
